Innovation / Creativity in service
a.    Our dedicated volunteers joined Police and Revenue staff and assisted in evacuation and rescue operations throughout the night 1st & 2nd Oct 2009.

b.    Instead of packed food pockets, we directly supplied cooked food items like Rice, Dal, Chutney, Upma, Pongal, Pulihora, Rasam, Sambar, etc.,

We felt packed food items in plastics are not good for health and environment. That is why we innovatively supplied hot cooked food items.

c.    We assessed specific needs of women and children. We creatively distributed sanitary napkins for adolescent girls and women, ORS sachets for aged and ill health people, play items and educational material for school children to bring them from psychological trauma.

d.    Since the existing toilets are not usable, we arranged temporary toilets for women and girls.

Impact felt

The impact of our evacuation, rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities have greatly impacted the lives of the flood victims particularly women and children. We saved lives of the aged and disabled persons. Our support of relief builds confidence of the flood victims and helped them to recover for normal life. Our support to students motivated them to come out of the psychological trauma. We believe that our activities are innovative, creative and replicable.
